The phrase No Guff, literally translates as No Nonsense. Guff, a noun, means speech or writing that is nonsense. Some synonyms are: hogwash, poppycock, garbage, balderdash, a crock (of shit) to name a few. Depending on where you grew up, and when you grew up, "taking No Guff" was your mantra.  It's STILL mine!
